At a dinner party last night the guest of honor, a young man who grew up with my son, told of finding a photograph I took of my son when he was eighteen months old, drinking from a hose and peeing at the same time on a postcard in Durango, Colorado.

I noted that I did not know about the postcard and had never been paid for the use of the photograph, which I had placed with an agent in New York in the 1970s.

This was the second time I learned about the use of the image without permission or payment. Several years ago, my brother-in-law found the image on the door of the men’s room in a restaurant in Columbus, Ohio.

I googled, “A baby boy peeing while drinking out of a hose,” and found that the restaurant was part of a chain and the picture was everywhere.

I made a stink. On my next trip to Columbus, I had dinner at the restaurant. My husband checked out the men’s room and found the picture gone.

I would post the image, but WordPress might consider it pornagraphy.

So, if I am not around for a few days, it is because I am putting copyright notices on the images I have posted on this blog.
